    Antique Turn of the Century Brass Lace Making Bobbin Christmas Ornament England.

    This is a brass bobbin that was originally used to hold up to 200 yards of silk thread. It was used in a lace making loom. Made in Nottingham England and purchased there by my mother-in-law sometime in the 1980s. she put it on her Christmas tree every year with several ornate lace ornaments that she also purchased there at the same time.
    It is 2.375” in diameter the hole in the center is .375” wide. It is strung with a piece of monofilament. I think it would be prettier and apropos to swap it out for a thread of red silk.
    I use recycled packing and shipping materials whenever possible to save on costs.
