    *Up for sale here is a very rare beer bottle, from the old steel river mill city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Allegheny County. Bottle would date into the 1880's era. This early pint blue aqua colored blob is in near mint condition, and has seen barely any wear. The old glass is sparkling clean, and bottle was never tumbled. The clarity of the glass is superb as seen here. There is the slightest hint of patchy haze on the back, as this is non detracting. Bottle has no chips, pings or dings, and displays handsomely. It has the old style of lightning closure top. The blob top looks to be applied on. Please see pictures.
    *It is boldly embossed in a round slug plate, as it crudely reads ~ "JAS. POWERS / 145-6th AVE. / PITTSBURG, PA." Pittsburgh is also without the "H" on the bottle. The base is plain. The top inner area of the slug plate to where it is embossed, has been lightly peened out, on part of the word "Powers". On the lower back side it has the ~ "D.O.C. 2", Pittsburgh glass house initials. Above this is crudely reads ~ "This Bottle / Is Never Sold". This lettering is flattened out. This handsome looking pre pro beer measures 8 3/4 inches tall, and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. You will be well pleased with this vintage piece of brewery history, from southwestern Pennsylvania.
