    Description

This auction is for a vintage porcelain Bottle top with the hall (?) and seal attached.  The stopper itself is made of white porcelain with red writing on the top going in a circle around the edge and reads:  ED J. BIRK & BRO CHICAGO,ILL.  in the middle it reads 2341 Perry Street.  From the information I was able to find on the internet this brewery was in business at this location from 1910-1912. The back (Bottom) of the cap has in Gray lettering Pat'd FEBRA 1892 in the middle is has K. HUTTER. The bottle cap looks to me to be in excellent shape for its age and has no cracks, no chips and no repairs. The writing on the top is clear and crisp as is the bottom, however for me the gray lettering is a bit harder to read, but as shown in the pictures it is also legible. The metal wire hall (?) (I am not certain that is the official name of it) is rusted but still in tack.  It still has the original (Rubber) seal attached which is now hard but does not appear to be brittle. Based on the information I was able to obtain regarding this company and street address of 2341 Perry street, this bottle cap is about 110 years old and the design of the bottle cap was 129 years ago.  Please see all the photo's as they are considered a part of the description.  If you have any questions or concerns or need additional information please contact me prior to bidding.
